FIRST AID AND RISK ASSESSMENT

Lesson 1:
Focus: Risk Assessment in Sport
1. Brainstorm as many sports as they can in 5-10 minutes.
2. As a class they must categories the sports into high, medium and low for level of risk.
3. Include potential risk of the sport it may be injury, the environment and equipment that can impact the risk severity of the activity.

4. Risk Assessment of a sport of their choice (S/N) 

5. Once complete copy sports off board into their books – if time.

Lesson 3-4:

Focus: Injury Prevention
Discuss the following topics:

Par Q form – why do you fill them out why are they important? (explain topics in attached PAR Q)

Why do we have rules in sport?

Elements important to prevent injury – warm up and cool down

Complete an Incident Report for a sport of their choice (S/N)

Show Concussion Movie and get students to write responses to the questions (submit as S/N)
